Lynn Serra Senior Consultant Beth Carpenter and Associates

Lynn Serra has amassed over 20 years experience of operational and management experience in healthcare with a proven track record as a seasoned nursing and business professional with strong operational, due diligence, and regulatory experience. As a nursing professional, Ms. Serra has worked in a surgical and intensive care step-down unit and as an Administrator over a multi-site agency providing home health, hospice and private duty services. Her expertise as a proven expert clinician allows Ms. Serra to have a unique perspective and innovative approach to identify and systematically resolve operational issues that hinder the organization ability to achieve sustainable results.
Ms. Serra successfully planned and launched a start-up home health agency which achieved deemed status while employed for a Miami based home health firm. She successfully navigated the agency through JCAHO Accreditation with Commendation. In addition, she was responsible for an additional start-up hospice agency. The hospice was licensed and certified without deficiencies. Ms. Serra’s attention to detail and strength in operations management provided the foundation to a fiscally and clinically successful agency.
Since moving to Beth Carpenter and Associates, Ms. Serra has performed due diligence audits for potential home health and hospice purchases, billability audits for a home health chain, and home health and hospice feasibility studies for agencies in several States, as well as authoring a database manual for a nationwide pediatric association.
Lynn Serra is familiar with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care's (ACHC) Standards for Home Health. She recently completed training at an Accreditation Workshop for Home Health Agencies through ACHC.
Ms. Serra holds a M.B.A. with Distinction from Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, IL, a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University, University Park, IL, A.A.S. in Nursing, A.S., and A.A. degrees from Thornton Community College, South Holland, IL, and a Certificate in Gerontology from the University of Illinois, Champaign, IL.
